Everyday since the outbreak and surge in Covid 19 cases within the community, many Singaporeans and the majority of the world work from the safety of our homes with the support of family around. However, our front-line essential workers are faced with battling the Coronavirus on a daily basis.
When asked if the possibility that the virus may still be lurking on the premises scare them, our Data Clean Asia Supervisor who is a father of a newly born son and has been working in the cleaning industry for over 10 years responded:
“Yes , Of cause we are afraid but this is our Job and our responsibility to our families and the community . So we follow and take the necessary safety precautions and measures very seriously. I also want to lead by example and teach my children to have courage in the face of adversity “
As the demand for cleaning and disinfection has tripled, so has the work hours for many of those in the cleaning industry and our Data Clean teams are not an exception. They start each day being thoroughly briefed by their perspective team leads on the correct use of PPE and are also taught the Dos and Don’ts of infection control.
Decked in full PPE attire , this includes coveralls, gloves, boots and protective goggles , Our disinfection team perform their duties in infected and non-infected premises alike . In response to some difficulties they face during the disinfection process, one Data Clean team member replied:
“The PPE gives us a sense of security when we disinfect potentially infected premises, however such protective gear is warm and uncomfortable, and we are usually dripping in sweat aft 10 mins of cleaning. But to me it doesn’t matter because our safety comes before discomfort”
The team carries out their disinfection and cleaning process in strict accordance to the NEA Interim guidelines for Environmental Cleaning and Disinfection of Areas Exposed to Confirmed Case(s) of COVID-19 in Non-Healthcare Premises.
Data Clean Asia who is an NEA approved Vendor has been making it their top priority to not only equip their disinfection team with more than sufficient safety gear and equipment but to also provide them with safety training skills and guidelines to ensure emergency preparedness. They are Constantly educating their teams with any new information that surfaces in regards to the virus situation.
Data Clean Asia’s Head of Sales responded to how the company is supporting and responding to the urgent request and demands due to the ever changing pandemic situation .

It is during these unprecedented times that our cleaners, security officers, healthcare workers and emergency responders are risking their lives to keep our society safe and have become the unsung heroes of our time .
